Can 1937c cone top 1

The iconic ’Cone Topped Can’ was invented in 1935 and Simonds were early adopters in 1936. You can download the recollections of Duncan Simonds HERE.

The Hop Leaf Gazette of November 1936 reported that a display at the Arthur Cooper off licence in Reading of SB in cone top cans, attracted a great deal of attention. Simonds also opened the first pub in the UK to sell ONLY beer in ‘well chilled cans’, appropriately called ‘The Tavern’, in Reading.
